Hi Rajesh,

It would be advisable that you only purchase the foreign land upon the MOP of your flat. You may clarify this issue with the HDB too.

Hi Rajesh,

Our understanding is that you should not own any private residential property during the MOP therefore as long as the property you own is not classified as a residential property, it is fine and definition of this should be recognised under the legislations, therefore you should clarify with HDB if this is ok.

Hi Raj,

1) Pls be reminded that the law here in Singapore is very strict and usually there is no leeway in between. It is just the severity of the penalty once a law is violated.
2) The rules in the HDB policy are not just an agreement between 2 parties. It is an agreement between a consumer and an authority.
3) Thus it is advisable to adhere to the MOP requirement. And only do your purchase after meeting the MOP.
